about

A song of condolence from a white ally. I composed this song on #blackoutblackfriday in Washington DC, a very racially segregated city, in heartfelt solidarity with the #ferguson protests across the nation and beyond, with the fight against the systemic racism that has proven deadly to those on the wrong side of social privilege, recorded on phone and parents' detuned piano--please forgive the roughness.

All of you who are fighting for justice in your way over the holiday this year, please download this song--my gift to you--and listen to keep your ears and heart warm on your way to your next protest or other act of #ferguson solidarity.

#blacklivesmatter

lyrics

A man killed in the name of law
We question what we saw

Should fear and prejudice play part
in stopping someone's heart?

When you take a person's life
You might cause some strife

A man killed in the name of law
We question what we saw

Should fear and prejudice play part
in stopping someone's heart?

When you take a people's rights away
Expect a fight today

A man killed in the name of law
We question what we saw

Should fear and prejudice play part
in stopping someone's heart?
